Special Schools Tournament
Cambridge LTC held its annual SEND tournament recently and it continues to grow from strength to strength. With four schools and 28 children, 7 courts, 8 volunteers from the club helping and the sun shining it made for a great inclusive event.
Some of the feedback:
“The tennis tournament was an amazing experience for the learners. They always enjoy coming to these tennis tournaments and it’s always one of their favourite events of the year. Our students are very grateful to all the volunteers who made the day possible and supported the tournament so that they could have the most amount of fun. The girls won the tournament and were extremely proud of themselves! We can’t wait to go again next year! Thank you to the event organisers”
“The students and staff had a great time and were inspired to play more tennis!”
“It was good to see a competitive side to some of our students in the games and the tennis tournament”
“All the students said they enjoyed the day, and would love to come back”
“Rhys said he enjoyed it even though he didn't win...”
“Eddie said he had a great time…”
“Chloe and Lucy enjoyed the games before and after…”
“I have come the last two years with students and each time the volunteers have been great, it has been fun and interactive”
“The set up is great and we were able to follow the day with ease”
“We look forward to hopefully coming again next year!”
Thanks to Cambridgeshire Tennis Inclusion Officer Steve Shaw for organising the event, everyone who helped on the day and to Castle School, Gretton School, Ivel valley School and Samuel Pepys School!
