Junior Tennis Awards
Comberton Trophies 2023
The Comberton Trophies are awarded annually for the following:
- Commitment to the County – attending County Training regularly
- Fair play and sportsmanship within County Training and when representing the County both in County Cups and in regular tournaments
- Effort in County Training and willingness to listen and learn
- Being a team player by helping and motivating their peers
- Going above and beyond to help the County
Many congraulations to the 2023 winners voted by the players:
10U Girls: Anamaya
For her work ethic, commitment to her tennis development, attendance, and contribution to County training.
Always positive and calm on court. Represents the county in a positive nature in terms of behaviour and attitude. She’s easy to coach and listens well and follows instructions.
10U Boys: Ajax
I would like to vote for Ajax please as he always plays fairly and supports both the girls and the boys
12U Girls: Aditi
Aditi always competes in a higher level to help the county. Great attitude and willingness to learn have been shown in county training and county events.
12U Boys: Martin
For his exceptional commitment and passion to learn and excel on the tennis journey. I have seen himplaying his best and fighting to improve every time he is on court.
14U Girls: Zoe
I vote for Zoe because she is good around everyone, and she is a good doubles partner and she always has a good attitude and she is a good person.
14U Boys: Jianzhou
Great attitude and quietly gets on with it. Great sportsman and very loyal to the County.
2023 Geraldine Booth Awards
Presented by James Booth in memory of his mother who was a great supporter of Cambridgeshire Tennis and whose two boys Richard and James played for the County and whose grandson now plays in the 9/10 and under age group.
They are an 18 and under award for players commitment to the County over the years and go to players who have represented the County in numerous age groups growing up.
Girls Winner: Gabi
Who has played for the County throughout the age groups and is currently ranked highest in the County at both 18 and under level and also in Senior level.
Boys Winner: Ryan
The boys award goes to Ryan ranked 21 in the country at 18 and under level - second in the County at 18 and under level and 5th in the Seniors. Ryan made his debut for the Cambs senior team at Winter County Cup in November.
Congratulations to them both who have been great supporters of the County during their junior years.
