Cambridgeshire awarded 2024 County Association Award by the LTA

To cap off an already incredible year, Cambridgeshire were one of the two counties to win the 2024 LTA County Association Award along with Middlesex.

This is an incredible achievement for everyone involved, and a BIG thank you to all the county volunteers, coaches, players, captains and the exec committee.

The award was presented to our LTA Councillor Julie Wych, by LTA President Sandi Procter and Chief Executive Scott Lloyd.

Below is what was said:

"The team at Cambridgeshire Tennis have been hugely driven to advance themselves in their governance. They were the first County & Island Association to sign the up to the Governance Framework and they achieved 100% compliance early on this year.

They are often used as a model of best practice in their documentation and have shared their resources and supported other Counties in their journey.

They’ve had a proactive approach to succession planning and recruitment through a thorough process. They have recruited a new Chair and other committee members in Performance, Women & Girls, GDPR and EDI.

In the County Cup Race, they are end-of-year 5th place, which is punching well above their weight in terms of size.

They have run county events for players with a range of disabilities.

They are good contributors to the Central and East Regional Forum and to the One Team Bulletin.

They have seen participation in the county increase year on year in annual, monthly and weekly junior participation and through their effective delivery of their core activities they contribute hugely in supporting LTA’s vision of Tennis Opened Up."
