12U Teams at the 12 Counties Championships

The Cambs U12 Boys team of Etienne Lamb, Martin Xu, Beau Martinez and Jethro Wong and Girls team of Aditi Sharma, Manami Bowditch, Natasha Gregson and Isabella Barker went to Corby on Sunday 11th Dec for the 12 counties event.

Up first were Bedfordshire. Etienne had the toughest match, winning a good battle 4-1, 5-3. The overall score was 8-0 to Cambs with no one dropping a set!

Second up were Leicestershire. The boys won their matches fairly comfortably, again not losing a set. The girls had some close fought battles and came out 3-1 winners, so overall it was 7-1 to Cambs.

Last up were Herefordshire and Worcester. Beau had a tough first set, coming through 5-4 and then winning 4-1 in the second, The rest of the boys team won comfortably again, finishing unbeaten and not dropping a set. Aditi came from behind to give herself 2 match points in an excellent match, but couldn’t convert and went down 12-10 in a third set match tiebreak. Manami fought back from a set down to win her match and Issy and Natasha won theirs, giving the girls a 3-1 win and overall a 7-1 victory.

Well done to all the players. 24 matches and only 2 losses, both in 3rd set match tiebreaks.
