Coach Liaison Lead
Cambridgeshire Tennis is looking for someone who can establish a coach network and drive forward coach support and accreditation across the county. This will be a part-time, paid role.
What’s the role?
We are creating a new role for a Coach Liaison Lead to join the Performance Committee.
The overall aims of the role are:
- to improve county support for coaches
- to improve coach standards and levels of accreditation
- to improve the engagement of coaches
- to increase coach participation in county activities
- to improve coach collaboration
What does it involve?
As this is a new role, the first few months will be taken up with defining and creating the coach network – an exciting opportunity to work with a ‘blank canvas’ to create something special. Once established, the Coach Liaison Lead will be responsible for running the coach network, organising events and working with the Performance Committee to make a real difference to the county’s performance programme. While the main focus will be on tennis, the role will also cover the padel coaching environment.
We anticipate the role will require approx. 30 hours per month for the set-up phase over the first three months, then move to 10 hours per month.
Do I need any specific skills?
Yes, it is important that you are a respected coach and at least level 3 accredited. You need to understand the LTA coach qualification structure and understand the advantages of CPD.
This is a service-based contract role, so you will be expected to be self-employed.

Competition Lead
Cambridgeshire Tennis is looking for someone to be responsible for developing, improving and managing the county tournament programme. This will be a part-time, paid role.
What’s the role?
We are creating a new role for a Competition Lead to join the Performance Committee.
The overall aims of the role are:
- to ensure the county competition programme is run to the highest standards
- to improve existing county run competitions including tournaments and the county club leagues
- to expand the county competition calendar
- to ensure the county runs competitions which are inclusive
- to increase the number of players and teams competing
- to raise the visibility of county competitions
- to encourage venues to run more competitions to support player development especially juniors
What does it involve?
This is a new strategic, planning, and managing role rather than a delivery role. The county already runs several successful tournaments and competitions - continuing the success of these is key under your management. The role will involve understanding the current Cambs competition calendar, identifying potential improvements and implementing these. The role will, with others, identify new competitions that could be run by the county and/or by working with venues to encourage them to run competitions that will improve performance and disability tennis in the county.
The role will also cover padel. It is expected that in time you will work with our padel ambassadors and the committee to start to develop a competitive environment for padel in Cambs .
We anticipate the role will involve an average of 8 hours work a month.
Do I need any specific skills?
Yes, it is important that you understand the LTA competition landscape and understand how important starter and other competitions are to encourage more people to compete. The role will involve extensive collaboration with other members of Cambridgeshire LTA and venues throughout the county, so a friendly, persuasive manner is an advantage.
This is a service-based contract role, so you will be expected to be self-employed.
